1. Purpose
These Community Guidelines describe the standards we expect from everyone using forkd. They work alongside our Terms of Service to keep reviews genuine and the community respectful, but they are guidelines for behavior, not a legal contract — we may update them as the community grows without changing our Terms.
2. Who These Guidelines Apply To
These guidelines apply to every registered forkd user, across every part of the App — reviews, notes, Eatlists, follows, the activity feed, and your profile.
3. Prohibited Review Activity
- Fake, incentivized, or compensated reviews
- Reviewing a restaurant without visiting it
- Self-reviews by owners, managers, or staff of a restaurant
- Reviewing competitors in bad faith
4. Local Lens Integrity
Use your real ZIP code. Misrepresenting your location to qualify as a local reviewer is a ban-eligible offense, and we monitor for patterns that suggest ZIP-gaming.
5. Content Standards
- No hate speech, slurs, personal attacks, or discrimination
- No sharing of restaurant staff's personal information (full names, photos) without consent
- No commercial solicitation embedded in reviews
6. Social Conduct
Follow and unfollow freely. Harassment via follows or the activity feed is not tolerated. Block and report tools are available in the App, and we have zero tolerance for threats.
7. Restaurant Listing Accuracy
Hours, menus, and addresses come from Google Places and user corrections. If you spot inaccurate information, use the in-app flag to let us know. We update listings based on reports but can't guarantee real-time accuracy.
8. Enforcement Ladder
Content removal → warning → feature restriction → temporary suspension → permanent ban. You can appeal any enforcement action by emailing hello@getforkd.io.
9. Reporting
Use the in-app flag on any review, list, or profile to report a concern. "Under review" means our team is looking into it — typical response time is a few business days. Reporters remain anonymous to the person they report.
